Why Brake Hoses Leak – Causes Every Tuner Should Understand
Leaks rarely happen overnight. In my experience supplying tuners in Japan, Korea, and the Middle East, most failures come down to a few repeat problems.
1. UV and Heat Degradation
Rubber hoses break down quickly under direct sun. That’s why we recommend Nylon Brake Line or PTFE Brake Line Assembly for outdoor or desert use.
2. Incorrect Bending Radius
Sharp bends stress the inner tube and fittings. This is common on DIY installs using Rubber Brake Line Assembly without proper routing.
3. Poor Crimping Quality
A weak crimp = slow leak. All our Nylon Brake Line Assembly products are tested at 10,000 PSI minimum.
4. Vibration Damage
Engine vibration can fatigue fittings. Stainless Steel Braided Hose absorbs movement better than plastic or rubber alone.
5. Wrong Fluid Type
Silicone-based fluid can attack certain rubber compounds. Always match fluid to hose material.
Maintenance Advice from the Factory
- Inspect hoses every oil change
- Replace any hose with surface cracks
- Use thread sealant sparingly—fluid leaks often start at the threads
FAQ
Are stainless braided hoses worth it?
For performance and longevity—yes. They resist swelling and external damage.
Can I reuse old fittings?
Not recommended. Micro-cracks are invisible but dangerous.
Do you support urgent orders?
Yes. Technical confirmation within 30 minutes.
